The Football Association launched the "Football Strategy - Vision 2038" in a ceremony held in the Dubai Frame in the presence of the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Football Association, representatives of various bodies, sports councils, clubs, sports leaders, world football stars and various local media, in implementation of the vision of the FIFA Board of Directors headed by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, as the Football Association seeks, through Vision 2038, to competitiveness by applying the best administrative and technical work standards for the coming period, commensurate with the aspirations of the Emirati sports fans, in a way that brings our national teams to the coronation podiums.

The President of the Football Association, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, said, in a press conference yesterday, that «the previous boards of directors of the Football Association worked hard to develop the game in our dear country, until football moved from hobby to professionalism in the 2008-2009 season, and our current council seeks to develop the game in our dear country. Continuing to work to achieve more progress and achieve continental and international achievements. Reaching the crowning podium in football is not an easy matter. He added: “Our council sought from the beginning to develop an accurate strategy that advances football in all its departments, especially the national teams, and for this strategy, we established a (retreat) with the participation of an elite of global sports leaders, ministers and decision-makers, as we discussed matters from several aspects in the Ramadan Council. We followed and closely monitored the opinions of critics, analysts, players and all members of the game through various sports media, in order to look at matters from all angles.

He pointed out that the Football Association has been working for several months with clubs, sports councils, government agencies, academies and those with experience in the country in order to reach the best long plan, indicating that various data have been collected to diagnose challenges and choose the best solutions that serve the future of Emirati football. He continued: "The strategy focuses on national teams and the future of players, participations, playing professionally, public interaction, global fame, and developing specific games that include women's football, futsal and beach soccer."

Speaking about the goals, he said: “The goals have been set, including a sustainable mechanism to qualify for the World Cup from 2034 and a sustainable mechanism to reach the 16th round of the World Cup starting from 2038, and the quest to compete for the AFC U-20 Championship 2030, and rise to the first place in the classification The continent of Asia 2030, winning the AFC Men's Championship for the year 2031, as well as targeting membership of the International Football Association Council in 2023, membership of the Executive Office of the AFC for the same year, and hosting the FIFA Congress in 2025 ».

The Football Association revealed that the federation’s strategy includes six axes based on 31 initiatives that contribute greatly to achieving the desired goals of the strategy, and by addressing the axis of national teams and talent development, there are initiatives to establish national training centers for the development of the best talent, a national plan for youth development, and a system for following up academies. And the importance of developing a large number of qualified coaches, in addition to transforming the sports performance support system by adopting technical and data centralization, re-designing competition structures for age groups, and establishing a program to exchange players externally. The initiatives of the Sports Participation axis include launching a community workforce training program, developing programs for age groups from 5 to 11 years old, developing an effective and beneficial player registration process, as well as developing a program for accrediting academies, clubs, events and community patrols.

As for the clubs, competitions and referees axis, its initiatives are based on developing a comprehensive formal agreement with the UAE Professional League, working to develop the work of clubs and sustainability, conducting a feasibility study for the privatization of clubs, strengthening regulations for professional players, developing the process of licensing competitions, as well as expanding the hierarchy of local football competitions, and forming A new association for professional players, the development of referees and the increase in the number of the arbitration base in the country.
