The Tokyo Olympic Torch Relay will begin in Kyoto Prefecture on the 25th.

Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, the relay on public roads will be canceled and will be held at the stadium in Kameoka City without spectators.

The torch relay will move from Hyogo prefecture to Kyoto prefecture until the 24th, and will be held for two days on the 25th and 26th.

Initially, runners were scheduled to run a total of 34 kilometers of routes in 16 cities and towns in Kyoto Prefecture, but due to the extension of the state of emergency due to the spread of infection, relaying on public roads was canceled and replaced. It will be held at "Prefectural Kyoto Stadium" in Kameoka City.

A total of 180 runners will run in the two days, and on the 25th of the first day, 79 people will run 50 meters each from 3:00 pm, and then the ignition ceremony will be held after 6:00 pm.

The event is supposed to be held without the audience except for the runner's family, and Kyoto Prefecture and the Games Organizing Committee are calling for live broadcasting on the Internet.
