Slovakia stood for a new impressive effort in this World Cup when the Russians were defeated.

Milos Kelemen scored 1-0 in the second period, before Martin Gernat banked a shot to make it 2-1, 13 minutes into the third.

The Slovaks finally won 3-1 after a goal in the open Russian goal with one minute left and were praised afterwards by SVT Sports experts.

But even more, the Russians were criticized for their attitude to this match.

- There is nothing that inspires them.

There may be some change here and there, but it takes a lot of inspiration and intensity.

It's the Russians in a nutshell.

This is not professional, that you do not get into a World Cup match and are better prepared and understand that the opponents are not bad.

A Slovakia that fights with beaks and claws, then you have to come in with a little attitude, says Håkan Loob.

"No beautiful way"

Mikael Renberg was also not happy with the Russian effort.

- There are different ways to lose hockey matches, this was not a beautiful way, says Renberg.

With the victory, Slovakia tops Group A with nine out of nine possible points.

The Russian World Cup team is also at the top, but this after the planned defeat of Great Britain and the Czech Republic.
