After voting, Zhang Jun received the highest number of votes of 276, and was successfully elected as a member of the new BWF Board of Directors along with the other 19 people.

  In the closely watched 5 rounds, 3 wins and 11 points system, the reform vote reached 187 votes, accounting for 66.31%, and against 95 votes, accounting for 33.69%.

According to the rules of the World Badminton Federation, the affirmative votes must account for 2/3 of the total, that is, 66.67% of the votes, that is, 188 votes to pass the proposal.

The proposal was only one vote away from being passed, and thus failed to pass.

  In 2018, during the Tangyu Cup held in Bangkok, the World Badminton Federation once publicly voted on the 11-point system for the first time. At that time, the result was 129 votes in favor and 123 votes against, because the yes votes did not account for 2/3 of the total votes, 11 points The system proposal failed to pass.
