The US lead goal just over eight minutes into the first period was a real invitation from Darcy Kuemper.

The Canadian goalkeeper tossed the puck behind his own box and after an opposing player snatched the puck from Kuemper, it ended up with Jason Robertson who pushed in the lead goal for the white-clad.

It's a bit of arrogance, which costs money, says SVT Sports expert Nisse Ekman.

The United States then got a taste start in the second period.

Adam Clendening put 2-0 already after 01.19 and then Los Angeles forward Trevor Moore added in power play two minutes later.

It was a 5-1 victory for the USA, which took the championship's first victory after losing its premiere against Finland.

For Canada, it has started hard.

In the premiere, it was a resounding loss against Latvia and after tonight's 1-5, they are still at zero points.
