50 years old, Phil Mickelson last night made history as the oldest major winner ever when he won the PGA Championship.

Chaotic scenes erupted when Mickelson put the decisive putt and hundreds of fans entered the green - where even a knee-injured Brooks Koepka was.

- I was hit a few times on the knee in the crowd because no one really cared.

It was fun for Phil.

But taking a few slaps is not fun for me, says Koepka after the competition.

"Does not feel good"

Koepka has been suffering from a knee injury since March, when he slipped during a holiday with the family.

He has since undergone surgery to get his kneecap back in the right place.

- I was just trying to protect my knee.

I'll have to put ice on it now.

It does not feel good, he says about the scenes that took place on Kiawah Island.

A double accident for Koepka, who had the chance to win his third PGA Championship and fifth major, but was beaten by veteran Mickelson.

- I love golf, I love what I do and compete.

And getting the chance to play with and against Brooks (Koepka) today was so inspiring, says Mickelson about his 20 year younger challenger.
