Olivier Létang, president of Losc since December 2020, paid tribute on Monday morning, the day after the fourth French championship title in the club's history, to his coach Christophe Galtier, to his staff and to all the players "who have never let go ".

INTERVIEW

Olivier Létang has only been in office for a few months, but he is already in a position to celebrate a title of champion of France.

Appointed president of Losc in December 2020, the former sports director of PSG (2012-2017) witnessed the victory of his troops in Angers (2-1) on Sunday evening, confirming the fourth title of French champion of the history of the northern club.

“To be champion in front of Paris Saint-Germain is a great achievement,” he savored Monday morning on Europe 1. “It's not a cup, it's a 38-day championship. , I really think LOSC deserves this title. "

Olivier Létang especially wanted to pay tribute to the great craftsman of this trophy, trainer Christophe Galier.

"This is the opportunity for me to take a big hat off to him, as well as to his staff. And then there are players who, in the end, have never let go," said the manager, who highlights "the approach of a number of matches. Think of the match in Paris (1-0 victory), as we came out of a home defeat against Nîmes. There was also the match in Lyon (3-2 win) and the preparation for this week. So again, a big hat trick. We can look each other straight in the eye and say that the job was very well done. "

Galtier leaving?

"Now is not the time to discuss individual cases"

The president of Losc is all the more satisfied as he has only had a few weeks to make his mark. "We had relations with Christophe before, and we had very good relations. But it's true that when we work together afterwards, it can be different," admits Olivier Létang. "The relationship with Christophe is fantastic. Me, I am delighted to have him by my side as a coach. From a professional point of view, but also from a human point of view."

And yet, Christophe Galtier is announced leaving, for Nice, Lyon or even Naples. Unsurprisingly, the leader of the northern club has remained discreet about the future. "We exchange a lot, we are delighted with the collaboration. Now is not the time to discuss individual cases, whether it is the players, the coach or other people," he eludes. "We want to savor, we want to enjoy. The goal is to have a competitive team next season. But really, this is the time for fellowship, for celebration, rather than talking about anything else."
