As the pre-camps for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics were canceled one after another due to the influence of the new coronavirus, Abiko City, Chiba Prefecture decided to accept pre-camps for national teams such as Judo in Slovenia.

A total of nine players and staff, including Slovenian judo and taekwondo, will hold a pre-camp in Abiko City on the 24th, with Mayor Junichiro Hoshino and Ambassador Anna Pollack Petrich of the Slovenian Embassy in Japan. We signed a memorandum of understanding at the city hall.



The pre-camp is scheduled for July 13th to 30th, and the athletes will be vaccinated with the new corona before entering the country and will practice at the martial arts hall of the civic gymnasium while staying at a hotel in the city.



Due to the spread of the infection, we will not interact with the citizens during the camp, but we will consider whether we can interact with each other by looking at the infection situation after the competition, and we will continue to exchange sports and culture even after the competition. That is.



Mayor Hoshino said, "Although it is in a difficult situation, I would like to coordinate with the medical associations and hospitals in the city to provide a safe environment. I want the athletes to achieve excellent results."



Ambassador Petric said, "Safe implementation is of utmost importance, so athletes should also be vaccinated and check their physical condition. I want to interact with them with friendship even after the tournament."
