The opening ceremony of the 13th edition of the Asian Men's and Women's Boxing Championship (Delhi - Dubai 2021), organized by the Asian and Emirati Boxing Federations in cooperation with the Indian Federation and Dubai Sports Council, will take place at 8:00 pm today, and its competitions will continue until the 31st of this month.
The championship officially begins tomorrow at the official circuit, which was built with international specifications, in the main hall of the Meridian Airport Hotel in Dubai.
The President of the International Boxing Federation of Russia, Omar Karmelov, arrived late Saturday evening in Dubai, where he will deliver the opening speech of the tournament, and the President of the International Boxing Federation will participate in special training with the most prominent players participating in the tournament at ten in the morning.
A press release said: “The organizing committee of the tournament will hold a technical meeting at 2 pm in the presence of the technical bodies of the teams participating in the tournament. During the tournament, several training sessions will be held for international referees and coaches, and several meetings of the international and Asian committees will be held.”
The director of the tournament, Omar Al-Kindi, confirmed that the opening ceremony will include the presentation of the participating teams and the chanting of the athletes and referees section. The ceremony will also include the presentation of various impressive artistic paragraphs and the presentation of a film about the most important sporting events and tournaments organized by Dubai and preceded by all countries of the world during the "Covid-19" pandemic.
He added in a press statement: "The number of boxers participating in the championship reached 237 from 21 Asian countries. The number of referees who will administer the championship matches reached 19 referees, while the number of technical delegates reached 13 delegates."
