After the World Cup fiasco 2018 and the continued cancer in the Nations League, the national team captain Joachim Löw took drastic methods to turn the tide.
Something that resulted in the veteran trio Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng and Thomas Müller being poked for good.

But after continued good performances in Bayern Munich, Löw has changed.
When the national team squad for the European Championships was presented on Wednesday, both Müller and Mats Hummels were present.
Dortmund's Marco Reus was selected for the European Championships, but has himself chosen to say no to the championship.
Star goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is also forced to cancel due to a knee operation.
