Tadej Pogacar is only racing in his own country in the run-up to the Tour de France.
Last year's Tour winner prefers the Tour of Slovenia and the Slovenian Championship over the Critérium du Dauphiné.
The 22-year-old Pogacar did compete in the Dauphiné last year and then finished fourth.
A month later he even took the overall victory on his debut in the Tour by driving his fellow countryman Primoz Roglic out of the yellow on the penultimate day in the time trial.
This spring, Pogacar impressed with a win in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, but he did not play after that.
In the run-up to the Tour of Slovenia, which will be held from 9 to 13 June, he will be doing an altitude training camp in Italy.
It will be his fourth participation in the Tour of Slovenia for the rider of UAE Team Emirates, although he has never reached the podium in that race.
He finished fourth twice and fifth once.
After the Tour, Pogacar will also participate in the Olympic Games.
The Tour starts on June 26 and ends on July 18.
The road race in Tokyo is almost a week later, on July 24.
