The hope of Korean swimming, 18-year-old Hwang Sun-woo broke his world junior record again in 6 months in the 200m freestyle. It's an amazing record for a silver medal based on Rio Olympics.

Hwang Sun-woo, who won the first Olympic ticket in his life with a new 100m Korean record yesterday (15th), wrote a new history today.

In the 200m final, which is the main sport, he played solo from the beginning, beating second place Lee Ho-jun for more than 3 seconds and taking the touch pad first.

When 1 minute 44 seconds 96 appeared on the electronic board, a shout broke out in the stadium, and Hwang Sun-woo clenched his fists.

In November of last year, after setting the world junior record for the first time in a Korean player, it shortened 0.96 seconds again in six months.

[Seon-woo Hwang/Sooyoung national team: Reported on the electronic board (1 minute), 44 seconds were recorded, so I was very happy. I definitely think that speed and stamina have

improved a

lot.]

Hwang Sun-woo's record is only 0.16 seconds from Park Tae-hwan's Korean record, which is the silver medal following the Rio Olympics in 2016 and Sunyang in China based on the 2019 World Championships.

This season's 4th place in the world. All records up to 3rd were made in an Olympic standard depth of 3m pool, which is well recorded due to the small wave of water and high buoyancy, whereas Seonwoo Hwang's record was made in a relatively unfavorable 1.8m pool. It has a lot of meaning.

At this pace, which is shortening the record every time you play, the Tokyo Olympic medals are likely to be possible.

[Hwang Seon-Woo/Sooyoung National Team: I came to think that the Olympic medal is not a medal of my dreams, but a medal that I can really challenge. I will show you a good figure and a good record at the Tokyo Olympics. Fighting!]

Hwang Sun-woo will compete in the freestyle 50m final, relay 800m, and medley relay tomorrow to challenge tickets to Tokyo in up to 5 events.

With both the 15-year-old youngest Eunji Lee and the eldest brother Juho Lee, who participated in the 100m backstroke for men and women, both set new Korean records. Today, Korean swimmers are showing 4 new Korean records and world junior records, which is full of anticipation.
