Roma have had a failed season and this summer, coach Paulo Fonseca will be replaced by the much bigger name José Mourinho.
Tonight there is a derby against Lazio and despite the stands gaping empty, Roma announce that they have sold 46,000 virtual match tickets.
The ticket costs 2 euros and the proceeds go to charity, more specifically to elementary school students who are to be educated in the values of the sport.
"Never alone"
Each person who buys a ticket chooses a seat in the stadium and becomes part of a virtual choreography in the stands.
One of them is team captain Edin Dzeko.
In addition, buyers each receive a coupon in the Roma shop, a participation in a major competition and a t-shirt with the message "Mai Sola" - never alone.
Roma have not won a derby since September 2018 while Lazio come with their sights set on the Champions League place.
