The mansion of Derek Jeter, 45, a legend of the New York Yankees and now Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Miami Marlins, has sold for a record amount.

The Tampa Bay local daily newspaper The Tampa Bay Times reported that Jeter's mansion was sold for $22.5 million.

Jeter sold the mansion last September for $29 million.

It didn't reach the amount Jeter wanted, but the Tampa Bay Times said it was the highest price ever traded in Tampa Bay.

Jitter's mansion on Davis Island in Tampa, Florida, USA, has 7 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, a cinema, a game room, billiards room, swimming pool and boating facilities.

With a size of about 2,044㎡, it is the most expensive and largest property in the southern part of Tampa Bay.

In April of last year, Jeter signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and lent the house to Tom Brady, the best quarterback of the American Professional Football (NFL), who needed a place to stay.

Jeter, who played 20 years in the New York Yankees alone and retired in 2014, served as captain for 11 and a half years during the Yankees' heyday.

Jeter was dedicated to the Hall of Fame in January of last year, but unfortunately failed to unanimously vote by one vote.
