The Tokyo Olympic Torch Relay was held on the 10th and 2nd day in Saga Prefecture.

As the infection of the new coronavirus spreads, the final goal of Saga City was to hold a ceremony to celebrate the arrival of the torch by gathering a large number of people, although the number of visitors was reduced by half.

The Tokyo Olympic torch relay was held in Saga Prefecture from the 9th, and more than 170 runners ran in all 20 cities and towns in the prefecture in the two days until the 10th.

On the 10th of the second day, we started Kiyama Town at 9 am and visited the Yoshinogari Historical Park in Yoshinogari Town, where the remains of a large-scale ring-shaped village from the Yayoi period remain.

And in the last Saga city, Tokujin Yoshioka, who was in charge of designing torches and torch plates, served as the final runner, and the two-day schedule in the prefecture was over.

Mr. Yoshioka said, "Everyone is in a difficult situation due to the influence of the new coronavirus, but I hope the torch will become a light of hope."

As the infection of the new coronavirus spreads in Saga Prefecture, the number of visitors was reduced to half of the original number in Saga City, but a ceremony was held to celebrate the arrival of the torch with a scale of 1,000 people.

The torch relay will be held in Fukuoka Prefecture from the 11th to the 2nd, but all relays on public roads will be canceled and only the ignition ceremony will be held without the general public.
