Following the competition in the Czech Republic on May 19, the Diamond League premiere in British Gateshead awaits four days later.

Duplantis will also compete at the Bauhaus gala in Stockholm on June 4 and afterwards recharging on Swedish soil awaits before the Olympic Games which begin on July 23.

Duplantis about the huge press

- I want to win the Olympic gold.

Just being able to compete in an Olympics is a dream that I have had since I was little, and now I am in a seat where it feels like everyone sees me as a favorite for gold.

It's a lot of pressure but it's very cool and I'm grateful for that.

I will make as much as possible of this situation and show both Sweden and the rest of the world what I can do, he says to SVT Sport.

You seem very comfortable with all the pressure?

- Well, I'm not a guy who just loves the press all the time, but when it comes to sports I have nothing against it.

When it comes to pole vaulting, I have great self-confidence and know that if I'm just healthy, I can perform.

That self-confidence is the reason why the press does not take issue with me.

"Want the Olympics to take place"

In recent days, two opinion polls have been conducted in Japan regarding the Tokyo Olympics.

One showed that 59 percent of the people want the games to be canceled, the other showed that 65 percent want the games to be canceled or postponed.

- I want the Olympics to be held.

I try to see it positively and believe that it will happen, says Duplantis at today's press conference.

For SVT Sport, he develops:

- I think the Olympics will be over and that is all the motivation I need.

I have all the motivation in the world right now.

When asked how important the competition in Ostrava will be next week, Duplantis answers:

- It is an important competition, but not the most important of all.

If I jump very well, it does not mean much, and if I jump badly, it does not mean much either.

It's at the Olympics that I should jump as best I can, so I'm not worried.
