The district court has today, after arrest negotiations, made the decision to detain the SHL player.

The crimes against a close relative he is suspected of, assault and rape, are said to have taken place in mid-March.

Near the home arena to the club to which the man belongs, the crimes must have taken place a few hours after a match.

Following today's arrest decision, the club chooses to remove the player from service.

- He is shocked, we will appeal, says the SHL player's lawyer.

Preliminary investigation against the man has been ongoing since April.

On Monday, May 3, the man was arrested.

Prosecution against the SHL player will be brought no later than 19 May.
