In February, the Olympics will be decided in the Chinese capital Beijing.

Sebastian Samuelsson is one of three Swedish biathletes selected for the championship and in connection with a press conference, he received questions about China as a host country.

China has been criticized several times before for lack of human rights and demands have been raised for the games to be moved to another country.

- It is important that we talk about those things even if it is not always so fun, says Sebastian Samuelsson at the press conference.

"Little I against the world"

He continues:

- It is clear that I as an individual athlete would like us to go somewhere else.

I do not think we should have championships and, above all, not the Olympics in that type of country.

I try to influence as much as I can, but it's small I against the world sometimes it feels like.

I can only try to say what I think all the time and then we can hope that there will be a change in this in the future.

Hanna Öberg is on the same track.

- It is clear that this is a special situation.

Then what Sebbe is talking about is difficult for us to influence very much.

It is not relevant to stand over or so, says the biathlon star and continues:

Öberg: "Trust it"

- I trust that those who make the decisions have made decisions for the right reasons.

I also trust SOK (Swedish Olympic Committee) who has made an assessment and who raises issues that are important precisely with human rights, that we talk about these things while we still compete and show what we stand for.

Sebastian Samuelsson says that the problem is not unique to the Olympics.

- We see this in all types of sports and events, that you use this type of event to spread some type of propaganda.

It is clear that we want to get away from that.
