London club Chelsea defeated Real Madrid 2-0 in the return leg at Stamford Bridge, and won the semi-final of Europe's biggest tournament with 3-1 overall.

Where Timo Werner and Mason Mount scored the goals that took Chelsea further.

After barely half an hour of play, the goal came that gave the home team an advantage.

Nice build-up by N'Golo Kante resulted in a chip in the crossbar by the German Kai Havertz, but on the return the compatriot Timo Werner nodded in 1-0.

Chelsea then created several qualified chances to extend the lead in the second half.

But the visitors' goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, with a past in Chelsea, ensured that the excitement and uncertainty remained.

But with five minutes left of regular match time, the decision came.

American Christian Pulisic fitted in centrally to Mason Mount who easily pushed in 2-0 to a jubilant Chelsea.

Now the Premier League club is in the Champions League final, where league competitor Manchester City awaits.

The final will be played on May 29 in Istanbul.
