An XXL challenge for PSG.

Beaten in the semi-finals to go to the Parc des Princes (2-1), the Parisians must overthrow Manchester City, England, to hope to qualify for a second straight final in the Champions League.

Mauricio Pochettino's men will have to score at least two goals, or more, to create the feat.

They will have to do this without Kylian Mbappé, injured and left on the bench at kickoff, and without Idrissa Gueuye, sent off on the first leg.

Manchester City - PSG: kick off at 9 p.m.

Update on the compositions: Icardi at the forefront of the classic City side.

PSG will therefore play without Kylian Mbappé at kick-off, who will be replaced as a top striker by Mauro Icardi.

In midfield, Ander Herrera takes the place of Idrissa Gueye, and will be aligned alongside Leandro Paredes.

As for City, it's almost classic with the only notable change being the tenure of Fernandinho as a midfielder in place of the Spaniard Rodri.

Team compositions:

City:

Ederson - Walker, Dias, Stones, Zinchenko - Gündogan, Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva - Foden, De Bruyne, Mahrez

PSG:

Navas - Florenzi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Diallo - Paredes, Herrera - Di Maria, Verratti, Neymar - Icardi

The historical point: City for a first, Paris for a second.

This semi-final between Manchester City and PSG is also a duel between "new rich", possessed on one side by the Emiratis and on the other by the Qataris. The Citizens of Pep Guardiola, wide leaders of the Premier League and close to the coronation, are looking for their first Champions League final, a competition after which they have been chasing for years. The Parisians are in the running to play a second final in a row, after the one lost last year against Bayern Munich. The winner of this confrontation will face either Chelsea or Real Madrid, who face each other tomorrow night (1-1 in the first leg) in London.

Update on the workforce: Gueye suspended, Mbappé left on the bench.

Expelled in the first leg, midfielder Idrissa Gueye will be unavailable for this return leg. Kylian Mbappé, affected in the calf, will be left on the bench for the kickoff. The Blues star could come in during the game, unless his injury is no longer serious ...

The point "we believe it": this season, the PSG is imperial on the outside.

However, PSG has reason to believe it. This season, they managed to win on the lawns of three greats of European football: first in Manchester United in pools (0-2), then in the round of 16 to go to Camp Nou, against Barça (4- 1). But there was especially this incredible victory on the ground of Bayern Munich (3-2), in the quarter-finals, to afford a major feat. We'll need one more tonight.

Here are the reasons to believe.

The scary stat 'update: only a 7% chance of qualifying.

If you are Cartesian, do not read this statistic. Only 7% of teams that lost their first leg 2-1 at home managed to advance to the next round in European Cup history. In addition, the Citizens have not lost at home in C1 for 13 matches and a 2-1 defeat against ... Lyon, on the first day of the 2018-2019 season. Suffice to say that the Parisians will have to achieve an immense feat. That's good, they've already done it this season.

Update on the first leg: a 2-1 loss after a failed second period.

In the first leg, everything had started so well for PSG: an almost perfect first period, a goal from Marquinhos and an almost unchallenged domination. But the whole Parisian edifice collapsed upon returning from the locker room. Under pressure, the Parisians no longer saw the light of day and suffered the aggressiveness and the possession game of the Citizens. By dint of retreating, they conceded two stupid goals, on a cross-shot from De Bruyne and a free kick from Mahrez who took advantage of the misalignment of Kimpembe and Paredes. Then Gueye was sent off, as a symbol of this second period to be forgotten.
