Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will not play the Champions League final for the second year in a row.

The French club was eliminated by Manchester City in the semi-final of the European Cup on May 4, 2021 in the North of England.

PSG lost 2-0 on the lawn of the Citizens, covered with hail.

On the first leg, the Parisians had already lost 2-1.

This time, they were mostly victims of the freezing realism of their opponents.

Illustration in the 11th minute when, on a strike countered by midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, winger Riyad Mahrez bursts on the right and deceives the goalkeeper Keylor Navas with a cross shot: 1-0.

The visitors then connect the clear scoring opportunities.

In the 17th minute, on a corner from the left, defender Marquinhos jumps higher than everyone else and catches the ball with his head, but the ball hits the crossbar.

In the 19th, winger Angel Di Maria steals her from Bernardo Silva's feet at the entrance to the opposing area and tries to lodge her at the bottom of a cage deserted by the opposing goalkeeper, Ederson.

But the Argentinian narrowly misses the mark.

PSG crack

The reigning French champions enter the second period on a razor's edge.

They have to score twice, at least, to be able to dream of a qualification.

But they thus expose themselves to counter-attacks.

A situation that makes the business of Manchester City and Phil Foden.

The twirling winger forces Keylor Navas on parade (54th).

At the other end of the field, the Brazilian Neymar (55th) and Ander Herrera (61st) are certainly threatening.

But the Parisians take a cold snap, signed Mahrez.

In the 63rd minute, the Algerian doubles the point blank range, on a service from Foden: 2-0.

Frustrated, Di Maria is excluded for a bad gesture towards the Brazilian Fernandinho (69th).

Reduced to 10 against 11, Mauricio Pochettino's players do not have much to hope for against those of Pep Guardiola.

Foden narrowly misses the 3-0 (shot on the post in the 77th and Navas parade in the 80th).

The Citizens will play the first Champions League final in their history, on May 29 in Istanbul, against the winner of Chelsea-Real Madrid (1-1 in the first leg).
