Now the Swedish Sports Confederation, together with Halmstad municipality and SVT, has made the decision to cancel this summer's SM week.
The reason is the current situation with the corona pandemic.
Attempts have been made to find solutions for an implementation, but it has been concluded that there are no such conditions.
- We worked for, and hoped for an implementation, albeit on a reduced scale, of a Swedish Championship week this summer, but in the current situation we have no choice but to cancel.
The uncertainty is too great to be able to responsibly carry out such a large event, says Stefan Bergh, Secretary General of the Swedish Sports Confederation.
This summer's SM week would have been held between 30 June and 6 July with SM competitions in just over 30 different sports.
