The
Roma
announced Tuesday the signing of the Portuguese
Jose Mourinho
as coach of the first team from the 2021-2022 season with a contract until 2024. The statement came a
few hours after reporting that Paulo Fonseca leave the bench at the
end of the
course.
"AS Roma is happy to announce that José Mourinho will be the new technical manager of the first team from the 2021-2022 academic year," says the official note from the Italian club.
"An agreement was reached with the coach that binds him to Roma until June
30, 2024,
" he adds.
It has only taken the Portuguese manager two weeks since
Tottenham
dispensed with his services to find a new club.
"After speaking with the owners and Tiago Pinto (general manager of the club), I immediately understood what the ambition of this club is. The incredible passion of the Roma fans convinced me to accept the position," says the Portuguese, according to pick up the Italian team.
