"Sports Arbitration" rejects Al-Falah club's lawsuit against the Football Association

The Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration decided to reject the lawsuit filed before the Appeals Chamber, filed by Al Falah Club against the Emirates Football Association in a sports dispute 131/2021, with the support of the appealed ruling not to accept the club’s membership with the federation due to non-fulfillment of the required membership conditions. The statement issued today by the Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration confirmed that the arbitration committee headed by Ahmed Jumaa Al Suwaidi, and the membership of Belqis Muhammad Al Nuaimi and Abdul Razzaq Farouq Saflo, based its decision on the fact that the declaration requirement that the appellant could not achieve is a mandatory condition, according to the laws and regulations of the Commission General Sports that came under Article 7 of Federal Decree-Law No. 7 of 2008, that the Public Authority for Sports exclusively has the right to issue decisions related to the declaration, merger, suspension, or cancellation of operating entities.

The statement stressed that what reinforces the conclusion reached by the arbitration panel is the statement of the General Sports Authority in response to the Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration letter that the advertisement requirement is mandatory for all governmental or private clubs of all degrees, and that sports federations are obligated to apply this condition and the authority’s decisions and instructions.
