Addressing the UAE Football Association to cancel its arbitration committee
The Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration addressed the Football Association to cancel the Arbitration Board in the Federation, pursuant to the text of Article (17) of Federal Law No. (16) of 2016 regarding the establishment of the Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration, which states that “The sports arbitration bodies existing at the time of work By this law, it has to adjust its conditions according to its provisions, within one year from the date on which it comes into force.
The letter addressed to the federation, according to the statement issued on Monday, by the center, included the demand for the need to change the regulations of the Football Association in line with Federal Law No. (16) of 2016 regarding the Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration, its statute and its procedural rules.
The Vice President of the Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration, Dirar Belhoul, said: “We addressed the Football Association to cancel the arbitration committee, according to the text of Article (7/4) of the arbitration committee of the UAE Football Association, which stipulated the adjudication of appeals in order to discriminate against the decisions issued by the appeals committees in The federation, until the Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration commences its duties and functions, and since the Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration has started its work as of 06/20/2020, this order imposes a new reality that requires the absence of duplication or conflict of roles, and thus the illegality of the existence of the arbitration committee in the Federation, provided that The decision of the Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration shall be implemented, and the center shall be informed of all legal measures taken in this regard within (10) working days, starting from its date, noting that the decisions of the Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration are included in the power of the executive document according to the text of Article No. (15) Federal Law No. (16) for the year 2016 ».
