Asuka Terada won the women's 100-meter hurdles final at the Mikio Oda Memorial International Tournament in Hiroshima City with a new record of 12 seconds 96 in Japan.

31-year-old Terada set a new record in Japan, shortening his own record by 0.01 under favorable conditions with a tailwind of 1.6 meters.

Terada "Next, I'll do my best to break the standard record for participation in the Tokyo Olympics."

Terada said, "I'm glad I was able to update my personal best. I was in good shape, but the result of the qualifying was bad, so I went to the final with the hope that I could do as much as I could," recalled the race.

On top of that, he was enthusiastic, saying, "This time it was a Japanese record, but next time I will do my best to break the standard record for participation in the Tokyo Olympics."
