Chelsea started the match well and got their first clear chance just over ten minutes into the match but Timo Werner's finish went straight to Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

But next time it went better.

Christian Pulisic received a high deep ball to then coolly round the goalkeeper and put it 1-0.

After just over half an hour, the receipt would arrive.

A long pass into the penalty area finally ended up with Karim Benzema who nicely received the ball with his forehead and then pushed it into the net, his sixth CL goal of the season.

1-1 was also the result at half time.

Open before the return

In the second half, the former Chelsea star Eden Hazard was replaced by the home team.

Despite that, no more goals were offered in the first of two semi-finals.

It is now completely open for the return meeting which will be played on 5 May.

In the second semi-final, Manchester City will face PSG.
