Of these, it was reported that about 200 Japanese athletes have been nominated as representatives in 16 competitions, which is close to half of the total, including 33 new swimmers this month.



In addition to the captain, we decided to appoint a deputy captain for the first time at the Summer Olympics and appoint one male and one female as the face of the team in order to promote gender equality in the team.



In addition, a female Olympian who is close in age to the athletes will be added to the Japanese team as a consultant called a "mentor."



Regarding gender equality at the Tokyo Olympics, the IOC = International Olympic Committee has revised the rule that the IOC = International Olympic Committee has been able to serve as a pair of men and women for the flag bearers of each country and region.
