When Williams was 17, she ended up on the streets in 2001 after a family quarrel.

And shortly afterwards, she made her debut in the English national team.

But she kept the life situation a secret until 2005. Two years later, her coach at Everton would help her with the life situation and then it only went up for Williams.

"It has been a pleasure"

The 37-year-old midfielder, who has played for Reading since 2017, has played 172 internationals.

And three world championships.

Williams has taken two Women's Super League titles with Liverpool and won the FA Cup with both Everton and Arsenal.

But in a statement via his social channels, the midfielder announces that the season will be her last.

- It has been a pleasure and a privilege to have had a career for more than 20 years in women's football, but some incredible peaks.
