A soccer game has 90 minutes, sometimes one less.

During the game between Sevilla FC and Granada, the number four was clearly shown on the small scoreboard on the edge of the page.

The fourth official showed what referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea had told him: There should be four minutes of stoppage time.

Sevilla were leading 2-1 at this late point in the game.

Ivan Rakitic and Lucas Oscampos had scored for fourth in the Primera División, Roberto Soldado shortened for the guests in the closing stages with a penalty.

Granada still sensed a chance to equalize until de Burgos Bengoetxea whistled the game after exactly 93 minutes.

Granada's protests were successful.

Still, it wasn't enough to make a draw

Granada's players stormed up to the referee and persuaded him that he had stolen a minute from them.

At first in vain, the referee did not allow himself to be softened, pointedly pointed to his watch and sent the teams off.

"Something like that happens, we all make mistakes"

The game seemed over.

Until de Burgos Bengoetxea noticed his mistake and ordered the 22 professionals back onto the pitch after several minutes.

They had to put on their shoes and jerseys again.

The referee whistled the game again.

This time for just a minute when nothing happened.

"There was a lot of confusion, but something like this happens, we all make mistakes," said Seville coach Julen Lopetegui.

Sevilla won the game 2-1 and with three points behind leaders Atlético Madrid still have a chance of winning the championship.

The team has won the last five games, making the battle for the championship in Spain more exciting than ever.

With five game days before the end of the season, Atlético, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Sevilla can realistically win the title.
