A new proposal to launch a retirement system for citizen players

The Professional League is discussing creating a job for a football player in the insurance and pensions system

The Technical Affairs Development Workshop of the Professional League launched a proposal to create a job for a football player in the insurance and pensions system in coordination with the General Pensions and Social Security Authority so that the player gets a retirement pension after spending 15 years in the stadiums.

The workshop, which was held on Sunday evening in Dubai, discussed the proposal to fully apply professionalism to players and amend the licensing list for this purpose.

The technical development workshop of the Professional League monitored the most prominent challenges facing professionalism, most notably the dispersion of players with their work to ensure their future after retirement and the absence of insurance for players against the risk of injuries.

It also highlighted the fact that some clubs empty their players while preserving their jobs, which leads society groups to complain about their obtaining a large salary from the clubs in addition to their salaries from their workplace without actually benefiting from them in the workplace, as well as the injustice between all clubs in this regard as other clubs cannot grant Full-time for its players.

The Technical Development Workshop rejected a proposal submitted by clubs to register three players from the first team with the U-21 team to participate in this competition.

The workshop also refused to replace the U-21 competition with the U-23 tournament, and it also refused to cancel the second warning on the technical and administrative bodies if they did not receive warnings for three subsequent matches, similar to what is applied to the players.

The technical development workshop adhered to the sufficiency of seven players in the category (residents, foreigners, and newborns) while leaving six players on the pitch in the matches.

The clubs have requested an increase in the number of players to eight, of whom only six will participate on the field.
