The Englishman Alan Shearer broke through in Blackburn, where he also took home the league in the 1994-95 season.

With his 260 Premier League goals in 14 seasons, for Blackburn and Newcastle, he is the top scorer since the league started in 1992. He is also the only player to reach over 100 league goals in two different Premier League clubs.

Europe's top scorer several times

Alan Shearer was awarded the Golden Shoe, as Europe's top scorer, on three occasions.

Thierry Henry received the same award four times.

The Frenchman, just like Shearer, is one of the league's most iconic strikers, and achieved great success during his years at Arsenal.

There were 175 goals in 258 games, a club record, and Henry also scored at least 20 goals in five straight seasons.

"Is more than special"

During his eight seasons at the London club, he won the league twice and was one of the big stars in Arsenal's "Invincibles" edition, which went through the 2003-04 season without a single loss.

"Together with Alan Shearer being elected as the first two in the Premier League's Hall of Fame is more than special.

When I was little, I just tried to make sure I could get a pair of soccer shoes, and now we're talking about the Hall of Fame, "Henry told the Premier League's website.

Later on Monday, a list of another 23 nominees will be presented. Supporters will then be able to vote on which six people will take their seats alongside Shearer and Henry already this year.
