The 2020/21 season was tough for Charlotte Kalla.

In November she became ill with covid-19 and in February she suffered from back problems in connection with the competitions in Falun.

- Both events have been very challenging.

As for covid, there was no one to ask how it would affect me.

It was worrying not to know how the body would react, says Charlotte Kalla to NSD.

The World Cup selection aroused criticism

The World Cup in Oberstdorf was in danger for a long time, but during the last national team camp it turned around.

The back got better and better and when the squad for the championship was presented, the 33-year-old was there.

However, the decision aroused a lot of criticism, including from poked Anna Dyvik who considered that she performed better than Kalla on several occasions.

Do not know if covid-19 continues to affect

But Kalla takes the criticism calmly.

- If I had not felt ready, I would absolutely never have gone to the World Cup.

I have no ambition to be a World Cup skier but I want to perform at championships, she says.

- I had a good feeling about training, but nothing says that it would only be a good result.

In mid-April, Kalla announced that she is investing further towards the 2022 Olympics. She says that she does not know if the autumn coronary heart disease will continue to affect her.

- I really do not know.

It's hard to know what's what, but no I do not know.
