Trainer Ronald Koeman thinks FC Barcelona will have to win all of its remaining seven games to become champions in Spain.

The Catalans have to make up for a five-point deficit on leader Atlético Madrid, although they have played one game less.

"Indeed, we can hardly miss a point. Otherwise you have fewer opportunities to become champion," said Koeman on Saturday at his press conference prior to the game against Villarreal.

"I don't know how many points we need, but at least we need to get a lot."

Koeman's team is engaged in a compelling title battle in Spain.

Real Madrid (three points behind), FC Barcelona (five points) and even Sevilla (six points) are all on the tying line of leader Atlético Madrid, which was still thirteen points apart from the competition in December last year.

"The teams are very close to each other," said Koeman.

"Atlético, Real and Sevilla are winning many matches. Our advantage is that we will play one more match against Atlético and can therefore beat them. It will be a fight until the last day of play."

FC Barcelona has to overcome a difficult hurdle on Sunday with an away match against number seven Villarreal.

"But this is not the hardest away game we still have to go", says Koeman.

"It all depends on us. If we are energetic, we can win. The competitors also have tough matches to play."

Atlético Madrid will visit Atlethic Club on Sunday, while Real Madrid will receive subtopper Real Betis on Saturday.

The Sevilla of striker Luuk de Jong travels to Granada on Sunday, which reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
