The Tokyo Olympic Torch Relay will be held in Miyazaki Prefecture from the 25th to the 2nd.

The Tokyo Olympic torch relay, which started in Fukushima Prefecture last month, will be taken over by Miyazaki Prefecture and will travel to 12 cities and towns in the prefecture for two days from the 25th.

On the 25th of the first day, the departure ceremony will be held at Takachiho Shrine in Takachiho Town, and the relay will start at 9:45 am.

After that, in Nobeoka City, twin famous runners, Mr. Shigeru So and Mr. Takeshi, will run together to connect the torch.

Then, we will connect the torch to the coastal cities and towns along Hyuga-nada and arrive at Miyazaki City, the last day of the first day.

In Miyazaki City, Takeshi Matsuda, a male swimmer who has participated in the Olympic Games three times in a row and won a total of four medals, will be the runner.

The final runner will arrive at the Miyazaki Prefectural Office, where the celebration will take place around 7:30 pm.

In Miyazaki Prefecture, infections of the new coronavirus have been confirmed one after another, and some local governments are taking measures such as reducing the ceremony of the torch relay.

The Games Organizing Committee and the prefecture are calling for support through live internet broadcasts as much as possible, and we want spectators along the road to take thorough measures against infection by avoiding crowds and supporting them with applause.
