Piteå barely managed the contract last year.

So far this year, the team has lost several players who together scored 17 of Piteå's 21 goals last season.

- It is not something we think about but it is clear that they are good players who have left but they are good players who have also come in, says Josefin Johansson team captain in Piteå.

- Already last year, there was a major refurnishing in the squad and it has continued this year.

So much has been new and we have talked about building new history together in this squad, says coach Stellan Carlsson.

Recruited national team player

Piteå has made some interesting new acquisitions ahead of the year, including Icelander Hlin Eiriksdòttir and Anam Imo from Nigeria, who most recently came from Rosengård, where she scored two goals last season.

Coach Stellan Carlsson thinks he has a squad that stands for a lot of intensity this year, something he missed last year.

- I think we will see that we come back to the old identity, that we are intense all over the field, both offensively and defensively, says Stellan Carlsson.

Fell in the premiere

In the premiere, Piteå fell away against Vittsjö with 2-1 and ironically it was Fernanda Da Silva who decided, she who was Piteå's best goal scorer last year.

New goal opportunities await Josefin Johansson and Piteå on Sunday when they meet Eskilstuna at home.

- I hope to be able to contribute to our teams succeeding, then whoever scores goals no matter if we do them, says Josefin Johansson.
