The Chairman of the GCC Basketball Organizing Committee, Vice President of the UAE Basketball Federation, Abdullatif Al-Faradin, revealed that the Shabab Al-Ahly Club will host the 40th edition of the Gulf Clubs Championship, which qualifies for the Asian Championship, from 18 to 26 June.

Al-Fardan told Emirates Today: “Last month, the Gulf Organizing Committee received an official letter of apology from the Kuwaiti Federation, which was behind the referral of the file to the UAE Federation, which showed great response in hosting the event, before Shabab Al-Ahly confirmed that it is the champion of the season’s league. The past, the readiness to host the event on its hall ».

He added: “Hosting the tournament enhances the eligibility of the country's clubs led by the Gulf basketball, and defending the title that dominated it in the last five editions, whether Shabab Al-Ahly in (2015, 2016 and 2017), or Sharjah in the last two editions 2018 and 2019.”
