21 successful female ski jumpers appear in a video on Twitter posted by Norwegian star Maren Lundby.

"I want to compete in ski flying," they say.

26-year-old Lundby has, in addition to an Olympic gold and two World Cup titles, been a pioneer in the sport even before it received World Cup status in 2009.

- This is something we have worked for for a year but which has not been published until now.

We thought we would avoid publishing it, Lundby says to NRK.

One hundred meters longer jump in ski flying

At the World Championships in Oberstsdorf two months ago, the ladies had to compete in the big hill 120 meters for the first time.

The normal is called 90 meters.

Skiing is at lengths from 185 meters.

The longest jump in a ski flying slope is measured at 253 meters, more than a hundred meters more than what you normally jump in a 120-meter slope.

When the international ski federation Fis had a meeting on Saturday, the ladies' ski flight was voted down with the votes 9-7.

Germany, Austria and Poland were among the nations that opposed, while Sweden and Norway, among others, voted in favor.

- I actually do not understand.

It has been thought that the girls are not good enough, says the Swedish ski jumper Astrid Norstedt to SVT Sport.
