Max Verstappen won a messy second F1 race of the year, on the Imolabanan in Italy, which was characterized by wet road conditions after rain showers at the beginning of the race.

One who was hit by the hydrogen was Lewis Hamilton who skidded off the track when he was about to turn a few cars.

- I was in too much of a hurry to drive past and when I saw that it was wet I tried to brake, but I skidded.

I'm grateful I could get the car running again, says the Briton in Viaplay's broadcast.

Hamilton fell to seventh place after his incident.

By then, the Dutchman had already taken command in the race after a quick start where he drove around Hamilton despite the British having pole position.

Hamilton began a hunt for his competitors and came past all but one.

But he could never threaten Verstappen, who thus got revenge for losing the duel in the Formula 1 premiere in Bahrain three weeks ago.

Lando Norris finished third.
