Färjestad was beaten to win the fourth quarter final to keep the match series against Växjö alive.

Loss and Karlstad team could take a vacation.

It started like that.

Series-winning Växjö went to 3-1 a bit into the second period - after, among others, Tobias Holmberg first shot 2-1 himself and played until Fredrik Karlström's 3-1.

But Färjestad did not give up.

Coach Johan Pennerborn timed out and gestured wildly in hopes of waking up his team.

And it paid off.

Pontus Widerström scored his second goal to 2-3 and in powerplay Per Åslund scored the equalizer.

The match was alive before the third period.

The third period was goalless.

Färjestad had a golden opportunity to grab the straw and force a fourth match with a power play at the end of the period, but Växjö and Victor Fasth held tight.

Karlström decided

And the tension continued in the long run.

The first overtime period also ended goalless.

The fifth period began with the Växjö goalkeeper Victor Fasth being really behind his own goal - and then served Olle Lycksell an open goal.

But the puck slipped annoyingly along the finish line with Färjestadögon seen.

But the decision came.

For Växjö.

And once again it was Fredrik Karlström - who also decided the first quarter-final in overtime - who stepped forward again.

Barely 15 minutes into the fifth period, he shot 4-3.

Växjö to the semifinals with 4-0 in matches, while Färjestad's season is over.

- Hard work, nice and a little relief.

But deciding is pretty nice actually, Karlström summed up for C More after the match.
