Former Sekiwake Kirinji Kazuharu Taruzawa, a popular sumo wrestler, died in March due to multiple organ failure.

Former Sekiwake Kirinji Kazuharu, who was born in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture, entered the Nishonoseki stable and stepped on the first bale in the summer of 1967.



He raised the ranking with a bold stance, was promoted to Sekiwake in 1975, and served as a ring in the Makuuchi for a long time.



The fierce battle with Fujizakura, which was shown at the Chunichi Dragons Sumo in the summer of 1975, is still the best to be handed down as a great game.



Former yokozuna Kitanoumi and the second generation Wakanohana of the former yokozuna were born in 1958 and were one of the popular wrestlers called "Hana no Nippachi-gumi", but retired at the age of 35 in the middle of the autumn of 1988.



After retiring, he retired from the Japan Sumo Association when he reached retirement age in March 2018 to teach younger generations as a senior citizen.



According to the Sumo Association, Mr. Taruzawa died of multiple organ failure on March 1.
