The return to competition of Gaël Monfils, it is not for now.

The French player forfeited the Masters 1000 in Monte-Carlo, where he was due to make his comeback against Spaniard Pablo Andujar as the number 10 seed. La Monf said he was suffering from a calf injury.

“I have felt discomfort at the bottom of the calf for ten days and it was amplified yesterday afternoon (Saturday) during my last training, he wrote on his networks.

I had an ultrasound which confirmed the extent of the injury.

Gaël Monfils has not played since his premature elimination in the first round of the Australian Open, but is optimistic about his ability to recover from his injury as quickly as possible.
