On April 18, history will be written when BK Häcken enters its first damallsvenska season - as reigning champion.

What was previously Göteborg FC has since the Swedish Championship gold was secured in November changed shape and joined BK Häcken.

So what does that mean besides the new home arena and new match stands?

- We have got fantastic conditions and I guess it will only get better and better, says national team goalkeeper Jennifer Falk who is supported by Pauline Hammarlund.

- We have two chefs who cook for us before the training.

It feels like everything has been taken up one step, says Hammarlund.

"Best conditions in the entire Allsvenskan"

Angeldahl also thinks that the change from GFC to Häcken is a boost.

- There is a class difference.

I would like to say that we have the best conditions in the entire Allsvenskan.

Jennifer Falk:

- With the results in hand, it has been good, but I wish it had been handled in a different way so you got rid of the hard days.

Riot after the Swedish Championship gold

For the path to better conditions has not been entirely simple.

Just weeks after Gothenburg FC secured the Swedish Championship gold, a shock wave passed through Football Sweden.

Sweden's best football team would be shut down.

What really happened when Göteborgs FC became BK Häcken FF?

- The first minutes were a shock.

Am I clubless now?

Should I move ?, says Filippa Angeldahl about the telephone meeting on December 29, where the players first heard the news.

- I think it was sick to dismiss the team over the phone, says Filippa Angeldahl.

"Could not say too much"

Gothenburg FC's chairman Peter Bronsman has always claimed that the reason for the closure, or the move, is to give the players better conditions.

He still maintains this today.

In addition, he has received a lot of criticism for what the players experience lack of communication.

- We could not say too much but were clear that we wanted to make a change.

In that situation, we had no club ready, says Bronsman.

According to Bronsman, there were several clubs that were interested in taking over Göteborg FC's place in the damallsvenskan.

In the end, it was BK Häcken who, through an extra annual meeting on January 27, voted yes to taking over the JRC.

- I am very happy.

Especially when I know how good it has been afterwards.

The decision we made was exactly as we thought and wanted, says Bronsman.
