Miguel López Abril, known in the world of basketball as 'Miguelito', died this Sunday at the age of 66.

Born in Hospitalet de Llobregat,

he trained in the lower categories of FC Barcelona

, a team with which he made his debut in ACB in the 1972-73 season.

López Abril was one of the best Spanish point guards of the 70s. With the Barça team, in which he played for seven seasons, he won the Copa del Rey twice (1977-78 and 1978-79).

He was also

runner-up in the Korac Cup

in 1975, after losing the final with Cantú.

Later, he went on to play for

Bàsquet Manresa, Caja de Ronda and Joventut de Badalona,

retiring in the 1984-1985 season, after defending the Caja Álava shirt, now Baskonia.
