The national team gathering in Stockholm is the penultimate before the summer's big highlight: the Olympics in Tokyo.

Therefore, it is important for the players to perform at the top in tonight's match against world number one USA.

- It is clear that personally and for the team, these are two incredibly important collections, but we try to take advantage of the time, says Rebecka Blomqvist to SVT Sport.

The 23-year-old striker always has in mind that the championship is approaching.

- Personally, I try to show at every training and if there is playing time, I want to take that chance as well.

Usually the national team has to take out 23 players, of which three are goalkeepers, in their championship squads.

This applies to both the WC and the EC - but not in the Olympics.

Hoping for playing time against the USA

Only 18 players, 16 outfielders and two goalkeepers get the chance.

This means that players who master several different positions can have an advantage - for example Blomqvist who can play both in attack and on the edge.

- It is a fairly thin squad and you never know what will happen during an Olympics.

And if it is to my advantage that I can play in several positions, I am happy about that.

I thrive in both positions and on both sides.

So hopefully it is an advantage, she says.

Against the USA tonight, she is happy as long as she gets playing time.

- I feel comfortable on the edge and as a forward.

If I get the chance to play, I'm happy.
