Färjestad did not live up to expectations during the basic series and only finished in eighth place.

From there, they had to get to a quarter final by defeating Malmö 2-0 in matches in the round of 16.

Now the series winner Växjö is waiting.

A Växjö that has not played a match in over a week while the Värmlands have been allowed to play matches.

An advantage for Färjestad, says the team's forward, Gustav Rydahl.

- If I see it from our side, we have the match tempo in us.

We think it's nice to play a lot of matches continuously.

We are trained for it and will have the strength.

We got two days off now and it has been good, now we are one hundred percent again.

Missed 40 matches

Rydahl himself was fully fit for the playoffs after missing most of the basic series due to injury problems.

- It's great fun to be back as that's what I worked for for five or six months.

It feels like it's getting better and better but I need to have a little patience.

Even if you want to be the best out there, you have to be patient and take it from here.

I still missed a 40 games or so, it was really boring to sit next to.

How are your thoughts before the series against Växjö?

- It will be very fun.

We will try to play as relaxed as possible and give them a fucking match.

It is a good hockey team and that is why they won the series.

But we have good faith in ourselves so we will, as I said, give them a fucking match.

"Try to loosen them up"

During the basic series, there were even matches between the teams where they won two each.

But it is history now, says Rydahl as the playoffs are something else.

- Yes, in the playoffs it will be a completely different matter.

It will be harder and more tactical.

But they are structured and barely give anything away.

We know how they play and will try to loosen them up during the journey.

Can you beat Växjö in four matches?

- Yes you can.

But how to do it, we keep to ourselves.

But it will be very fun and we have prepared very well.

As I said, we'll give them a fucking match.

Do not want to tip

Färjestad has mixed and given during the season's basic series.

But regardless of performance until the playoffs, Färjestad is usually a team many expect when it starts to get serious.

A feeling that is also present in this year's team, says Rydahl.

- We have a completely new team this year with new guys.

But we feel that we have a lot in us that we want to get out and hope that we can get it during the part of the season that is left.

We have great faith in ourselves.

As it looks right now, we will eliminate the disadvantage and we look forward to that.

What does the quarter-final series against Växjö end?

- I do not want to comment on that, Rydahl concludes.
