The match was decided in the ninth round of play when the German skipper Sixten Totzek with the last stone failed with a draw for one point.

When that stone became too short, Sweden got two points and a total of 8-4, whereupon the Germans thanked for a good match.

With the victory, Sweden has ten victories in twelve matches and will face Japan in the last round of the regular season, the night before Saturday, Swedish time.

In the night's most exciting match, the home nation Canada defeated Norway 6-4, a win that may prove to be absolutely decisive for which of the teams goes to the playoffs.
