For the fourth time, SVT Sport has compiled all the prize money the ski Swedes went into during the winter in the World Cup, WC and Ski Classics.

Frida Hansdotter pulled in most 2017/18.

Since then, Hanna Öberg has been superior for two years in a row.

This winter, Öberg is the best with over two million in prize money from the World Cup, but the margin to second is smaller than last year.

Sebastian Samuelsson accounted for an enormous boost in terms of results, and thus also financially.

He drove all 36 competition days in this year's World Cup (only seven skiers did so) and placed so well that there was prize money in 30 of the races, including relays.

A total of SEK 1,750,000, to compare with about SEK 250,000 last year, when he was No. 13 on the list.

- The prize money means a lot, they give me the opportunity to take the turns extra much in my investment, I will reinvest the money in my career and there I already have a big and exciting, but still secret, project underway, says Samuelsson to SVT Sport.

- That we have such high prize money in biathlon is proof of how prosperous biathlon is right now and above all how big a sport biathlon is internationally,

Sprint world champion Martin Ponsiluoma did not even reach the top 20 last year - now he is third.

Elvira Öberg and Linn Persson are also in the top eight and three other biathletes in the top 20.

Ebba over a million

Ebba Andersson was third in the world cup totals and also economically important Tour de Ski.

She also won two World Cup medals and through the victory in Ski Classics in Vålådalen, Andersson broke the million mark in prize money this winter.

The second best among national team skiers in length is Linn Svahn as ninth.

Lina Korsgren is the one in the long-distance circus who has raised the most prize money, close to a million.

She is followed in Ski Classic's money list by the men's winner Emil Persson and then teammate Ida Dahl.

That the hidden ice Dahl is before names like Oskar Svensson and Maja Dahlqvist is an exclamation point.

- I am not surprised but think it is interesting that the cross-country skiers manage to bring in at least as much money as the traditional cross-country skiers, says Sebastian Samuelsson.

Alpine darkness right now

Four years ago, alpine skiers dominated this list.

Hansdotter and André Myhrer in the top and a total of six alpine skiers in the top 15. This year, Sara Hector in tenth place is the only one to make it into the top 20, despite the fact that the prize money is greater in alpine than other skis.

Humpback piste, freeski and snowboard are also included in the calculation, but partly due to the corona-reduced competition program, none of the Swedish skiers make it into the top 20 this year.
