The investigation into the altercation between Juan Cala and Mouctar Diakhaby continues.

This exchange, which had resulted in an interruption of the match between Cadiz and Valencia on Sunday, would have originated from racist insults.

The Spanish media have indeed obtained, Wednesday, April 7, a document in which the disciplinary commission of the Spanish federation justifies the opening of a procedure.

"The opening of a case requires to have reasonable minimum indices of the commission of an offense", it is written.

With the opening of this disciplinary investigation, the designated investigating judge has a maximum of one month to take a decision and possibly propose a sanction against the Spanish central defender of Cadiz.

Juan Cala denies

Spanish Cádiz defender Juan Cala on Tuesday denied making a racist insult against French Valencia player Mouctar Diakhaby during a La Liga match on Sunday, accusations the latter repeated in a video.

Cala held a press conference to give her side of the story.

"During a play action with the player (Diakhaby), I get a hit. I protest, like everyone else, and as I run back, the player shouts at me. I come back (to him), I tell him 'leave me alone' and I keep running, ”explained the Cadiz defender.

It was then that Diakhaby allegedly accused him of uttering a racist insult.

"I told him 'don't worry, I didn't say that'. He pushes me. I keep telling him 'don't worry, I didn't say anything'," Cala continued, calling them 'circus'. follow-up given to the incident.

"I was judged before the end of the match, without listening to my version," he said, assuring that there was "no racism in Spanish football".

Following Cala's press conference, the Valencia club issued a statement on Tuesday titled, "Juan Cala, we don't believe you", deeming that the Cadiz player had "lost an opportunity to assume his mistake and to ask for forgiveness ".

"Intolerable" words

Diakhaby repeated his accusations to him in a video posted on social networks.

"Two days later I'm calmer and I want to talk. Sunday in Cadiz there is an action in which a player insults me," he said.

"It's intolerable, I can not let this go. You have all seen my reactions. It should not happen in normal life and especially in football which is a sport of respect," added the Frenchman.

In the match, ultimately won 2-1 by Cadiz, the Valencia players briefly left the pitch when their teammate said they had been insulted.

The match resumed after ten minutes, but Diakhaby had been substituted and had not returned to the pitch.

If the racist insults are demonstrated, Juan Cala risks between 1 month and two years of suspension.
