Tim Juel has been an important player for his BIK Karlskoga this season and not least during the ongoing hockey Allsvenskan playoffs.

He was the highest contributor to the Värmland team beating Västerås in the quarterfinals and pushing Björklöven to an extra time victory in the first semifinal.

But in the second semifinal on Tuesday, Juel was only on the ice for just over 17 minutes of the first period before he was forced to step down.

In came Stefan Steen who had a more combative match which Björklöven eventually won 5-2.

Miss at least two matches

After two matches in Karlskoga, the series - which is decided in the best of seven - turns up to Umeå for two matches.

Karlskoga's rehab coach, Håkan Persson, confirms for SVT Sport that Juel is not on the bus up.

- He is not on the trip up to Umeå and will miss both matches up there.

We have a new status taking on Friday with our orthopedist and then we get to take it from there, says Persson.

"Damage included"

Karlskoga is struggling with injuries and lacks some of its heaviest names that are meant to lead the team.

But Persson believes that it does not solve anything to feel sorry for themselves, but that others instead get to step forward.

- Injuries are included and we know that.

We have more on the injury list and it is just as heavy whoever is gone.

Now it is the other who is waiting to get in and fight.

But then Tim is of course a good goalkeeper and they have been these matches and throughout the season.

But now others can go in and do their job.

Match three in the semi-final series between Karlskoga and Björklöven will be played on Thursday.
